Much like last year’s 75979 Hedwig, this is a kinetic build, where Fawkes can flap his wings. No golden figure in this set though! 76394 Fawkes, Dumbledore’s Phoenix Now these are amazing! Giant buildable Harry and Hermione. Those chess pieces look great! There’s Harry, Ron and Hermione, with a golden Severus Snape. A great way to get some more tiles and swords too. US $69.99 / DE €69.99 / UK £64.99 / AU $109.99Īnother chess set! I have no idea about chess, but this looks pretty cool. Minifigures include Harry, Ginny, Tom Riddle, Colin Creevey, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Luna Lovegood, Gilderoy Lockhart, Dumbledore, Professor Sinistra, and a glowing Nearly Headless Nick, with a golden Voldemort. There’s even a brick built Nagini, the giant basilisk. This one includes a decent portion of the school facade, including the brilliant looking Chamber of Secrets. Minifigures are Harry, Dean Thomas, Profesor McGonagal, Madam Rosmerta, Mr & Mrs Flume, and a golden Ron. Inside there are some nice details, too, including some glasses of butterbeer.
I like the touch of the snow on the roofs. Two building facades – Honeydukes, the lolly shop, and The Three Broomsticks, the tavern. There’s Harry, Hermione and Ron, with a golden Hermione too. I do like the harp though, ready to put Fluffy to sleep. There’s another section of Hogwarts to add to the build collection, but to be honest, without Fluffy, there’s not a lot in this set. Harry is the golden minifigure in this set. Unfortunately the hair that was meant to be from a human was actually from a cat! The smallest set of the bunch, I love the little bathroom build, and the cat’s head for Hermione! This looks like a new element, and it’s brilliant. In Chamber of Secrets, Harry, Ron and Hermione all drink Polyjuice potion to change their appearance into someone else’s.
This release also includes a series of golden minifigures, to celebrate 20 years of LEGO Harry Potter. These will be available from June 1st, with a small selection available to pre-order from April 16 – that’s today! Let’s take a look – there are some beauties! LEGO has just released information about the next round of LEGO Harry Potter, with eight new sets.
